8th ANNUAL PCH SANTA MONICA / OXNARD
NEW YEAR'S DAY RIDE

77 Miles

Robert Nam provided the following information.

8:45 AM MEET
9:00 AM START

San Vicente & Ocean Bl

Fairly flat with a couple of rollers. Ride up the coast to Las Posas Road (this is where PCH turns into a freeway - exit at Las Posas and turn left, cross the overpass and then back onto PCH back to Santa Monica.
  • There should be very little traffic so a great time to enjoy the coast.
  • In the last few of years the group has swelled to 150+ riders so please be mindful not to bunch up on PCH.
  • Try to ride only 2 abreast. If you're not comfortable riding in packs, please go to the back of the group.
  • This is a 'free' ride and everyone is expected to be responsible for their own safety when riding with the group.

STOPS

  • First stop to regroup is Trancas for water, restrooms, etc at the Chevron station (if you prefer to continue without stopping, please go to the back and wait til everyone turns so you don't take people with you who may have to stop).
  • Second stop to regroup is at Las Posas bridge before turning around.

SAG - No sag this year so please carry all necessary items to be self sufficient. there's plenty of places to stop for water, food, etc but you should carry spare tubes, pump, etc.

thanks and hope to see everyone on the road!

ps - no ride if it rains

TEAM 100 GIFT WRAPPING EVENT THIS SUNDAY
AT I. MARTIN BICYCLES IN LOS ANGELES

One of the most common questions we get this time of year at the shop is, "Do
you gift wrap?"

Up until now, the answer has been no. It¹s not that we couldn¹t, it¹s just we can hardly fathom the carnage that would happen if Jaime were turned loose with a pair of scissors, a roll of tape, and a few square yards of wrapping paper. Somehow we can only see that equation ending with him living in a van down by the river.

Well, this Saturday, the answer is going to be, "Of course we can gift wrap that for you!"

Thanks to the good folks at TEAM 100, we¹re going to have on site gift wrapping from 11:00 - 5:00pm. They¹re going to be doing gift wrap in exchange for donations ($10 suggested) to this year¹s AIDS LifeCycle ride. It¹s a win-win situation for everyone. You can get a tree-ready gift and help out in the fight against AIDS.

What: Team 100 Gift Wrapping Event
When: Sunday, December 23, 2007, 11:00 - 5:00pm
